Ernest L. Isbell, MS, CFP® | LPL Branch Manager

Ernie Isbell served over 30 years on active duty in the Army, retiring on 1 September 1990. During his service he rose from the rank of Private to Colonel. He served three tours of duty in Viet Nam as a helicopter pilot and unit commander. During his service, Colonel Isbell was awarded numerous awards and decorations to include three awards of the Legion of Merit for meritorious service, two Distinguished Flying Cross Medals for heroism in combat, two Bronze Star Medals for achievement, two Meritorious Service Medals for achievement, twenty two awards of the Air Medal of which five were for heroism, three Army Commendation Medals for achievement, one award of the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with silver star, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the Master Army Aviator Badge, and the Expert Infantryman Badge plus numerous unit commendations and service ribbons.

After retirement, Ernie and his wife, Linda, moved to the Lewisville/Flower Mound/Highland Village area of North Texas where he established a branch of LPL Financial of Flower Mound. In this capacity, he and his wife have been very active in community support activities with the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lewisville, their church and support of the Christian Community Action Organization (CCA). Through Ernie’s financial services business, he sponsors numerous events to provide his clients and others periodic updates for Social Security/ Medicare/Medicaid, Identity Theft Awareness Programs, Retirement Planning, Wills and Probate updates for Texas, Estate Tax planning and overall financial services in his capacity as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

 Ernie Isbell graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Park College, Parkville, MO and holds a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Troy University, Troy Alabama.  He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional having completed the requirements for this designation at the University of North Texas, Denton, TX. Ernie is a General Securities Principal (Series 24), and a General Securities Representative (Series 7). Ernie is the Branch Manager of LPL Financial of Flower Mound.

Ernie and his wife, the former Linda Minyard, have two children, and three grandchildren. On September 5, 2014, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Carey King, MBA, AAMS | LPL Investment Advisor Representative

Carey is a native Texan and has been a Financial Advisor in the investment industry since 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington and Lee University and an MBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He is certified as an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS), holds several securities qualifications through LPL Financial (Series 7, 63 and 66) and is also a licensed Life and Health Insurance agent.

Carey served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during the 1960’s with the majority of his military service aboard an aircraft carrier in the Tonkin Gulf during the Vietnam War. After earning his MBA, he worked as a financial analyst for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. He also has over 25 years of corporate experience in financial management and marketing with the DuPont Company in Delaware, as a senior financial analyst with an electric utility in Arkansas, as a business consultant in Fort Worth, and as a Chief Financial Officer for a small manufacturing company in Dallas.

He began his investment industry experience with Edward Jones, opening a branch office in Flower Mound in August 2001. He became an independent financial advisor affiliated with LPL Financial in January 2008, where his business focuses on retirement planning, 401k rollovers, estate planning, and investment management for a select group of individual investors. Carey also works with business owners to implement retirement plans for small and mid-sized businesses.

Carey and his wife Mary live in Dallas. Carey has three grown sons, and Mary has two grown daughters; they have several grandchildren. Both Carey and Mary enjoy traveling, hunting, and cruising. They have been involved with Rotary Clubs in Dallas and Flower Mound. Carey is a member of the Summit Club of Flower Mound, the management board of the Cross Timbers Family YMCA, and the Military Officers Association of America.

Mary has over twenty years of non-profit management experience and currently serves as Executive Director of Metroport Meals on Wheels in Roanoke, an independent, privately-funded organization that provides home-delivered meals and senior center services to more than twenty communities in North Texas.
